Meet the teams for the Redsip HKTag Challenge: Kam Shan Monkeys, Tag Buffaloos, Wan Chai Warriors

Teams have now released their squad lists for the Redsip HKTag Challenge, taking place Sunday 27 May at King’s Park Sports Ground, Kowloon. Over the next ten days, we’ll be getting you acquainted with each of the 12 squads across the two pools so stay tuned!

To kick us off, we meet three teams from Group 2:
Kam Shan Monkeys, Tag Buffaloos and Wan Chai Warriors.

Kam Shan Monkeys

Regular tag session players has brought this tight knitted team together and word of a competition at stake has brought them even closer! Playing together week-in week-out at our HKTag sessions, captain Anna Burns assembled the Kam Shan Monkey’s and has brought them into their own.

A debut team, full of surprises, do not be fooled. With class throughout the team, they have pace, agility and a drive that keeps them coming back for more!

Tag Buffaloos

Narrowly losing the grand final in last season’s competition, the Tag Buffaloos return with a vengeance. Once again led by the inspiring Laura Fernández, Tag Buffaloos present largely the same squad as last season, with some new recruits, hoping to this time take home the top award.

One of the original and founding clubs of HKTag, the Tag Buffaloos have entered every competition and were last year’s HKTag Super League champions. With some top talent in their midst, will they be the ones to win the Challenge competition this year?  Back to top

Wan Chai Warriors

Fresh from the success of last year’s Rugby League Grand Final appearance, the WCW Tag team sees a revamp this year. With both seasoned and new tag players among the squad, they will be force to be reckoned with in this year’s HKTag Challenge.

Initially formed as the first and only Rugby League club in Hong Kong who are not Union affiliated, Wan Chai Warriors have turned into a mainstay with consistent performances and regular social sessions. Not content on just participating, they have been training hard in the off-season in preparation for this year’s event!  Back to top
