Entry is now open for teams to submit their squads for the 2018 HKTag Super League, which starts 11 August.
The only domestic league in the region, the HKTag Super League runs throughout August and last year attracted a record eight teams, across two pools, battling for the finals.
One of the most inclusive ball sports in Hong Kong
Tag Rugby is a minimal contact shortened version of rugby league, with seven players in the starting lineup. The sport is played in either men’s, women’s or mixed format, making it one of the most inclusive ball sports on offer in Hong Kong. The HKTag Super League is the biggest tournament of the Tag Rugby season and is the opportunity for players to put their skills and tactics to the test, after a busy summer.
“Record rates”
“Tag Rugby continues to grow at record rates here in Hong Kong; we have seen weekly tag sessions reach numbers of up to 70 players, which is fantastic for the sport. Our focus on the mixed game format differentiates us from other sports clubs and it’s one of the many reasons our players come back week-on-week,” says Neville Metcalfe, Chairman of HKTag.
“We’re excited to open up the HKTag Super League to even more teams this year and create an unforgettable tournament for our player and fans!”
