HKTag announce Copper 88 HKTag Super League

Summer Oz Tag is back for the second year running after a fantastic breakthrough year in 2016. The Copper 88 HKTag Super League will be played over seven weeks starting on 15 July culminating in Finals Night on 26 August. All games will be played at King’s Park.

The competition follows on closely from the ICG HKTag Challenge last month, and with one eye on the Oz Tag World Cup in 2018, is set to be a huge step forward for the sport in Hong Kong.

“Oz Tag is going from strength to strength here in Hong Kong, we have a loyal fan base who want to play every week, every day if they could and that enthusiasm is bringing in new players from a wide spectrum of Hong Kong society. Our focus on the mixed game format has made us diverse from the very start and that I hope will allow us to send a competitive mixed team to the 2018 Oz Tag World Cup”, said Neville Metcalfe, Managing Director of HKTag.

The season will also see the return of the HK Origin game, with the best from Hong Kong Islands once again taking on a Kowloon and New Territories representative side.

Copper 88 are this year’s major sponsoring partner who are delighted to be involved “Sponsoring a sport that is accessible to both, males and females and to people of all ages.” said Adrian Farebrother, official distributor for Copper 88.

Team entrance is HK$1,500 plus $100 individual player registrations for players who are not already HKTag or HKRL members. If you are interested in playing or in entering a team into this year’s competition please contact info@hktag.org
